According to the Hindus religion, Brahma created the lake for his sons to bathe in while they medicated on Mt. Kailash. Whether Indian pilgrims, Tibetan pilgrim or western tourist, one can see Lake Mansarovar,holy beginning manifested in its incredible beauty. It circled by mountain peaks and filled with clear, bright-blue waters that look just a breath away from the sky. The Mansarovar Lake was once surrounded by eight monasteries, which indicated the eight points of the wheel of Dharma, but red guards destroyed most of them during the Cultural Revolution in Tibet. Restoration is in the works. The above the mysterious saying could be very strange for someone who doesn’t believe those statements but the religious people they believe that are why so many people want to be there once their lifetime.
You will be met by our airport representative and transferred to hotel, your evening is relevantly free and after you have refreshed, you can get familiar with the area by going for a stroll down the street, at eventide our tour manager will meet you at your hotel to brief you on program during your stay in Nepal. Have supper, & its then rest & your first overnight in the city of cows & temples, probably the most in the world.
After a good night’s rest & a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we set out for a Sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu valley which begins in Kathmandu Durbar square, Swayambunath (Monkey temple) in the morning and sightseeing in Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhnath Stupa in the afternoon, Kathmandu is a wonderful mix of the ancient & the new & this includes western influences that sometimes makes visiting the capital an interesting place to spend time in as the old stubbornly jostles for its place with rising attractions from Europe & the west. Some of the sites you visit are UNESCO declared world heritage sites & you will truly enjoy visiting these ancient monuments & learning of its mystic history you’re your professional guide, return to hotel and overnight at Hotel.
After enjoying a good breakfast in your hotel, we will embark for Sightseeing at the ancient Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square that are highly known for their immense & tragic historical features that include heritage monuments that still echo the vibrant histories of these once-upon-a-time ancient kingdoms that had separate kings who lived life to the hilt but suffered tragic defeats at the hands of the famous Gurkha king Prithvi Narayan Shah & bullet holes can still be seen on the wall of these ancient palaces till this day. It was king Prithvi that finally unified a feudal Nepal that was constantly at war with one another and created a dynasty that still survives in Nepal today, and then drives to Nagarkot, sunset view and overnight at Hotel.
We will have sun rise view early in the morning and Nagarkot lies top of the hill. This is also a good place to see Himalayan panorama through a Himalayan river valley. After breakfast, hike for couple of hour to Chagunarayan temple which is the very old and artistic temple of Nepal which is listed in UNESCO world heritage. After visiting this temple, we will drive to Kathmandu- free time and overnight at hotel.
We drive from Kathmandu to Nepal Tibet border along a scenic highway. After immigration formalities at the border, you meet our Tibetan guide & driver. After some briefing we drive to Kyirung.
Acclimatize in Kerong before further driving. Free afternoon look around and overnight at Guest house.
Today is the first day with a long drive on the desert terrain. Driving past nomad camps and sheep and yak herds. We can see Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal from the pass. Continue drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and Peiku tso Lake (4400m). We will be crossing river Brahmaputra ( “Yarling Tsangpo” in Tibetan ) to reach Saga (4600m).
Watching the mountains in distance and driving through road we pass through the small town of Zhongba before reaching to Paryang.. Offering the first view of mt kailash and the holy lake only after several hours of drive. As you approach this serene and sacred lake, historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the North West shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can have a glimpse of majestic Mount Kailash. Manasarovar , the highest fresh water lake with turquoise complexion – surrounded by mt Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata and Lake Rakchyas is simply heavenly.
After some peaceful hours at the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata 7694m just across the lake, we drive 40 km to Darchen which serves as the base for Mt kailashkora ( circumambulation). The Kora is 53 km in total and completed in three days. O/n in a Guest house.
It is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky. The 15 km trail takes almost 7 hrs and overnight Guest house.
Hardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage trek , cross Dolma La pass at 5670 m. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget you. By the late afternoon you will arrive at Zuthul Puk where the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles.
Complete the kora and drive to Lake Manasarovar to Saga and Overnight at Guest House.
Drive back to Kyirung O/N at Guest House.
Driving further to Nepal Tibet border, complete the immigration formalities and drive to Kathmandu and overnight at hotel.
