Everest view Travels joins Solangture in MoMo mania
Everest view Travels has joined Solangture for the second edition of MoMo Festival Melbourne as an event partner. The travel agency has extented its involvement with the Solangture’s most ambitious event for the second year. The event scheduled to happen at Coburg Cycling Velodrome on 24th March aims to promote Nepal’s tourism potential in the global arena with MoMo(the Nepalese dumplings) as a main theme. Following the massive success of M Festival 2017, the Coburg Cycling Velodrome will once again host three days of rich cultural fair.
Over 30 varieties of MoMos will be offered at Momo Fest 2018, including chicken, beef, lamb, pork, goat and seafood with vegan and vegetarian included.
This year’s MoMo festival will be spread across three days of activities starting from 23rd March Friday evening with momo dinner and movies; Saturday (the main event) will feature live music and multicultural performances all day long; and Sunday will wrap up with a momo brunch and DJs. Prominent Nepali folk instrumental band Kutumba will perfom in MoMo Festival for the second year in a row. Some local Australia local bands will also take the stage with their performances.
Workshops in Latin dance, Bhangra beats, hip-hop, Chinese lion dancing, and Nepali Lakhey dance will also be the attractions. To make it a perfect family day out, Solangture has organised kids entertainment and rides and other kids friendly activities as well.
MoMo Fest 2018 also coincides with the Hindu festival of Holi, also known as the “festival of colours”. To celebrate, colourful powders – as per tradition – will be thrown around the velodrome.
The gold coin donations will be collected at the venue from participants to go onto the draw to win prizes such as return tickets for two to Nepal, an iPhone X, accommodation packages, dinner vouchers from top Nepali restaurants in Melbourne, and Nepali gift hampers of pashmina and Nepali crafts.
Solangure creative director says about the event ” after the overwhelming success last year, people have higher expectation this year. We are leaving no stone unturned to make this years event even better. We would like M Festival to be taken as not just Nepalese festival but also a multicultural event. Our effort will be to as inclusive as we can for all the other ethnic communities to come and showcase their heritage ”
More than 6000 participants have already registered for the event.
